Hello Parents and Students,
My passion is to help students excel in physics, for them achieve top-notch results, and also to impart long-lasting appreciation for physics that will carry them through their education journey and their future careers.
Credentials are important (but not the most important)
In the section above, I have listed some of my experiences and positions that I held at MOE schools.
I understand that these credentials are important to parents and students in deciding on a physics tutor. However, I believe that the truly important thing is not just to look at my credentials, but to understand my approach, my philosophies and my teaching abilities that resulted in my promotion to the positions above.
What contributes to student achievement?
Research shows that effective teachers are the most important factor contributing to student achievement. According to the U.S. study, “curricula, reduced class size, district funding, family and community involvement all contribute to school improvement and student achievement, but the most influential factor is the teacher“.
I agree partially with the findings of this research. From my observations as Department Head, I can certainly say that the teacher plays a vital role in student success.
Yet, if you ask many top educators, they will agree that the most influential factor, is the student himself/herself.
How do you reconcile these differences?
My answer would be that the most effective teachers are the ones that are able to successfully motivate and engage the students. The ones that are able to form a connection and understand the way each student thinks to teach them in the way that suits them best.
More than my excellent credentials, I believe that this is what differentiates me and allowed me to help so many students get amazing grades and also love physics. I am happy to let my students and their parents speak for me on the testimonials & google reviews page.
